HMC Buhurt Beginner Course –
Combat sport in historical armor
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fight in a real knight’s suit of armor?
Buhurt is a full-contact combat sport practiced in historical armor from the 14th to 16th centuries. The sport combines fighting techniques, strength, tactics, and history, offering a truly unique athletic experience where you can compete nationally and internationally.
The Buhurt beginner course by Helsinki Medieval Combat is designed for new participants who want to learn the basics of the sport safely and under guidance.
After the course, you will have the skills needed to take part in the club’s weekly training sessions and armored training.

Price: €120
Duration: 8 weeks (8 sessions)
Time: Fridays 18:00–20:00
Age limit: 18+
Registration for the Spring 2026 Beginner Course
Weekly training sessions during the beginner course are done with padded equipment so that techniques and safe training can be learned before using armor.
During the course, you will also get the chance to experience armored training sessions.

After the Course
After completing the beginner course, you can participate in the club’s regular training sessions:
Weekly training
Mon (training focused on individual categories) and Wed (training focused on team categories)
18:00–20:00
Armored training
Saturdays
13:00–15:00
